We spoke with Diablo 4 director Joe Shely and general manager of the Diablo franchise Rod Fergusson about the current state of Diablo, what their ambitions are for Diablo 4. And how the game was developed to fulfill them.
It's a big time for Diablo. There's the launch of Immortal and recently, you've showcased some parts of Diablo 4. Rod, as the overseer of the Diablo franchise, could you give us a quick temperature assessment of the franchise? Where are you at and what do you think it ought to be?
Rod Fergusson: I think it's never been a better time to be a Diablo player and Diablo player. We have Diablo in play, it's been on the market for 10 years however even the most recent season, Season 26. There are over 150 million hours of playing.
